Well, here's the latest, and it's a big set-back on the restoration
of my 1978 Yamaha XS750 Special! I do not have a garage to store my bikes in,
however I do try to keep them covered by tarps while not in use. Well,
to make a long story shorter, I haven't done much on my 750 for the
last couple of months since the weather has been rather chilly, bt have
kept it covered. I guess just covering it wasn't enough, because
yesterday, I went out and removed the cover, charged the battery up,
and for the first time in about 2 months, tried to spin the engine over (was
really hoping for a miracle, and have it crank up!), instead of the
miracle, I got what I thought at first was a locked up starter. I moved to
the next step, and tried the kick starter...... I was devastated!
Seems through our wet winter months, my engine has seized up! Some
people might say it's time to give up on this project now, but I say
"NO WAY!!!!! It's just another set-back, meaning when I finally tear this
baby down to put rings in her, I'll just have to take care of the
bottom end as well! A major set-back....yes! Game Over?........
NEVER!!!! I will ride this bike again one of these days! In the meantime,
stay tuned for more!
