History and Notes on My Yamaha XS400SH

Welcome to the history and repairs section of my web site.
I bought this little jewel of a bike about a year ago, I spotted it sitting outside a local pawn shop with an $800 price tag attached to it. I knew I couldn't pay that kind of price for this bike, but I looked it over anyway, and really decided that I wanted it! I happen to know the owner of this pawn shop pretty good, he was the organist at a church that I had attended regularly for several years. I went in to talk to him about cutting the price on the bike, and after some fancy talking (practically begging), I walked out of there as the proud owner of the bike! It wound up costing me $600 plus tax. I really haven't had to do much in the way of repairs on this bike thus far, it has proven to be very reliable. I did however, order a new chain for it today, as the existing chain has developed a lot of slack, to a point where I'm not sure that I really want to trust it on the highway right now. The chain should be in sometime next week. For more info on the cost of repairs and planned repairs, please Click Here!
